Ex Meridian Teaser 7

Blurb:
Police Lieutenants, God and Day are under intense pressure from the chief to take back control of Atlanta’s streets. The last thing their task force needs is a pair of trained killers in town with a personal score to settle.
Take a man and strip him of his ability to feel compassion, empathy, remorse, or any of the emotions that make him human, but leave the ones that ignite rage and aggression and you have the perfect killing machine—now imagine two of them.
Code names Ex and Meridian are synonymous for ‘guaranteed death’ to international terrorists. Two broken men from the same crooked streets, recruited into an unsanctioned government program that few know about. Trained to operate most efficiently—lethally—together.
When Ex returns from an op in Bolivia to learn his little brother has been accidentally killed in a feud between drug gangs, he’s stateside before he can consider the rules he’ll be breaking, and of course Meridian is right beside him. There’s mayhem on the streets of Atlanta and the police are losing control. If Godfrey and his elite team of detectives can’t get the job done then they’d be happy to lighten their caseloads for them. And Ex nor Meridian care about doing it quietly.
“I know who you are.” The man grunted when Ex turned to leave. “You’re the fucking devil.”
Meridian walked past, glaring one final time. “Say that loud enough… maybe God will save you.”

But after their first run-in with the big lieutenant and his protective husband, Day, Ex and Meridian start to reevaluate their own relationship. Wondering if they could be even deadlier if they let loose the feelings for each other that they’ve been forced to suppress for years.
Meridian’s dark eyes stayed locked on his, “A man who can fight beside the one he loves doesn’t make him weaker, Ex—it makes him more dangerous.”

No multiple pairings. No cliffhangers. Ends with a HEA.
Note: This is a partners-to-lovers, out-for-you, action romance.

Ex Meridian Teaser 4

Excerpt
“You don’t need any cases tonight?” Slade asked when he came in the cabin dressed in a crisp black chauffeur’s uniform.
“No. No machine guns needed for this one.” Meridian adjusted his gold cufflinks, then pulled the sleeve of his Armani suit jacket so that the hem stopped just above the cuff. “We’ll be out in five.”
Slade gave them a lazy salute and left to wait for them in the car. The lights were turned down low and their equipment was powered off. Meridian stood on the other side of the room watching him. Ex quirked one side of his mouth and took his own off-the-rack suit jacket and put it on. When he turned back around Meridian was standing in front of him.
Ex inhaled, feeling overwhelmed before he quickly yanked a noose around his desire. He had a job to do. But, damn. He had to give it to his partner. He could clean up to the point where he was hard to ignore and even harder to say no to. Ex went to the door to finish getting ready, needing the space to concentrate. Meridian slung his suede trench around his shoulders, then did one final check of what they needed to pull off what Ex believed to be their last op in Atlanta.
“You ready?” Ex asked him. He couldn’t help licking his dry lips as Meridian stalked towards him.
“Almost,” Meridian said, still advancing. “I just need one more thing.”
He closed the distance between them until Ex was pressed against the door. His jaw was gripped while Meridian caged him in with his other hand. Meridian manipulated him just how he wanted him and tenderly pressed his lips to Ex’s temple.
“I need you to concentrate tonight,” Meridian said, his warm breath caressing his face.
Ex nodded, his eyes getting heavy and his body responding as though it wanted to have a quick round two. He bit his bottom lip as he tried to hold his erection at bay. He was borderline embarrassed, but he could feel how solid Meridian was too.
“Focus,” Meridian whispered.
“How the fuck am I supposed to do that with you this close to me?” Ex murmured as he slid his hands inside Meridian’s jacket, enjoying the fine material of his dress shirt against his cold hands.
“That’s what I mean. I’m always close to you, all the time. And that won’t change, do you understand me? Nothing has changed in the field, so we have to pretend that we haven’t either.”
“Yes. I understand, Mere.” Ex tilted his head up and gazed at Meridian in a way that he hoped showed how fucking wonderful he thought he was, and the current plan that they were on their way to execute was nothing short of ingenious.
Meridian’s eyes seemed to get even darker just before he leaned in and firmly pressed his mouth to his and sucked his tongue between his lips. Ex moaned and clutched at the back of Meridian’s dress shirt. A small indulgence now was okay, they weren’t in the field yet. He reeled at the feel of Meridian’s dick nudging his own. It felt as if his partner was trying to push him outside without opening the door. Ex leaned his head back against the hard wood while Meridian licked at his sensitive throat.
“We have reservations,” Meridian said, his raspy voice tickling the rim of his ear.
“You make it sound like we’re going on a date.”
Meridian leaned back and gazed in his eyes. “Is that what you want?”
“I don’t want for something I can’t have. I know how we’ll need to live,” Ex whispered, then pulled Meridian back to him. He didn’t want to talk about this.

Hello Love Unchained!!

I want to thank you all so much for welcoming me back to promote a new release! My MM action/romance novel entitled – Nothing Special VII: EX Meridian – released on February 24th ! I’m so glad to bring you the seventh installment in my award-winning, best-selling Nothing Special series.

I hope you all will enjoy the different approach I took with this book. I wanted to give you more of the guys working together and what happens when they are truly challenged. Not that the Atlanta detectives don’t always have their work cut out for them, but God is always in command and in control. Until he meets men far more superior in skill and ruthlessness.

I’ve been asked how I came up with the names in this series. God, Day, Steele… now Ex and Meridian. Do I just pick a name? Or, do I research the names? Well, yes and yes. It depends on the book. On a few of my standalones, I’ve chosen an English name for my guys based on the feeling I got from them. Sometimes, I’ll hear or see a name that I think is kickass and I’ll use it. Because of the character’s background, names are critical and well-thought out.

And, since I’m a romance author, the name has to sound good when yelled out in ecstasy. 😉

Be sure to follow me on social media, or sign-up for my newsletter to never miss another release.

Happy Reading!

About the Author

A.E. Via has been a best-selling author in the beautiful gay romance genre for six years now, but she’s no stranger to MM. She’s been an avid reader of gay literature for over twenty years before she picked up her laptop to place her own kiss on this genre. A.E. has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Virginia Wesleyan College that she used to start her own paralegal firm after she graduated in 2008. It was a rewarding and satisfying career… but another path called to her.
Writing.

A.E.’s novels embodies everything from hopelessly romantic to adventure, to scandalous. Her stories often include intriguing edges and twists that take readers to new, thought-provoking depths.

She’s recently celebrated her 20th book anniversary, and is well-known for her hardcore, love hard, bad boy, alphas. Ex Meridian (Nothing Special, #7)Ex Meridian by A.E. Via

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Like slowly sliding down into a warm bath, reading this felt like visiting an old friend. It enveloped me with the familiar (God, Day and the team) and showed me the new (Ex and Meridian) in a way that blended them both perfectly. I can’t wait to find out what’s next
