My rating: 4 of 5 stars
First off, since it’s been years between the previous book in the series and this one, I would highly recommend a re-read or you’ll get confused. And even with a re-read, there is so much crammed into this book that it’s still tough to follow. I’ve been looking forward to this book for what feels like forever and while some of it did satisfy my craving, there were parts that were so muddled and jumbled that I felt like I was a pinball bouncing around a machine. Don’t blink when you read this or you’ll miss something. And while the ending was what I’d hoped for, it still fell a little flat, like being at a fireworks show expecting a big boom but all you get is a sparkler. There are parts that are hard to read, parts that will leave you nauseous, parts that felt unnecessary but ultimately it felt good to finally get a conclusion to the series so I’m giving it 3.5 stars.
