There is nothing easy about addiction, especially fighting the constant cravings if you’ve somehow managed to stop using. That this fact was addressed head-on in this story gave me great respect for this new-to-me author. You don’t get hooked, go through rehab and then everything’s perfect. Once you’ve managed to purge the poison from your body, THAT’S when the real work begins. Yes, a complete change of venue can definitely help but it’s not a cure-all. You have to be ready to fight every day. Finn was the perfect example of this. Tired, grumpy, unsure – and throw in the mother from hell. Whenever she graced the pages, I cringed.
Ben was the perfect yin to Finn’s yang and I adored them together. I would’ve liked to have learned a little more about him and his past but this was still a beautiful story of overcoming some of the most difficult of obstacles and smiling on the other side.

I think I need to smack myself upside the head for waiting so long to start this series. What was I thinking? Damn! The chemistry between these two, even before they got together, was off the charts. And after? Well…give me a whole lot more of that please. Not even waiting a second before I dive into the second one. I’ve learned my lesson now.

Emerson James had it all. Great job. Wonderful fiancé. Amazing friends. Loving family. Life was perfect. Out of nowhere, her life fell apart. Rather than dealing with it all, she packs a bag and leaves New York behind. By a twist of fate, she ends up in Nels Cove, Colorado and decides to stay.
Moving to the country is just what she needed. The quaint town, the countryside, and the people are perfect, well most of the people. Chase Archibald is an arrogant ass who grates on her nerves but he also sets her ablaze.
 *********
Chase Archibald is Nels Cove royalty. Everyone loves him and his family, well everyone except one person: Emerson James. She is the first person to call him out and not fall at his feet. That pisses him off but at the same time she sparks something inside of him; he can’t stop thinking about her.
Eventually, Emerson lowers her guard and Chase wins her over. Just as she begins to feel like herself again, her past and present collide and she will finally have face what she ran from.
*********
Out of nowhere, she makes a decision but does she make the right one?
DL Gallie is from Queensland, Australia, but she’s lived in many different places all over the world, including the UK and Canada. She currently resides in Central Queensland with her husband and two munchkins. She and her husband have been together since she was sixteen, and although they drive each other crazy at times, she couldn’t imagine her life without him.
Shortly after her son was born, DL began reading again. With encouragement from her husband, she picked up the pen and started writing, and now the voices in her head won’t shut up.
DL enjoys listening to music, drinking white wine in the summer, red wine in the winter, and beer all year round. She’s also never been known to turn down a cocktail, especially a margarita.

The door has just closed behind me when I see the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She’s walking down Main Street and I immediately notice her. How could you not? She is absolutely stunning. She’s wearing a yellow sundress. Her red hair is half up and half down and it’s blowing in the wind. Never have I seen someone so breathtaking. She went into Tiff’s and I decide to head there myself; after all Tiff makes the best muffins in three counties. It’s time for my afternoon coffee break and a guy has to eat, that’s what I tell myself as I walk across the street. In truth, I want to see this beauty up close and in person.
Walking in, my eyes immediately find her in the back corner booth…my back corner booth, I think to myself as I walk further inside. My eyes are steadfastly locked on her as I head toward the counter. I’m not looking and don’t see Jolene coming in my direction; her arms full of orders, we collide with each other. The plates she carries go flying and shatter on the floor with a loud crash.
“Chase, I’m so sorry,” she says as she drops to her knees to start cleaning up the mess. Tiff appears and begins to berate Jolene for being clumsy, again. Jolene isn’t cut out for waitressing, but Tiff is too kind to get rid of her. Before I have a chance to say anything, the hottie I’d come in to see is on her knees helping Jolene clean up. My mind immediately imagines her leaning forward, unzipping my slacks, and her pert, pouty lips wrapping around my cock. My deviant thoughts are thwarted when I hear her voice, laced with anger say, “It wasn’t her fault. This guy here wasn’t watching where he was going and bumped into her.” She pauses and looks up at me. “You can always help clean up the mess you made,” she sassily says, her eyes shooting daggers at me.
“Excuse me?” I growl, no one speaks to me like that.
“You heard me, grab the broom from the lady there and help us clean this up,” she responds as she picks up a broken plate and places it into the bin that magically appeared.
“Do you know who I am?” I ask, shocked that someone would speak to me like that.
“I don’t care if you are the president, you will help clean up the mess that you caused.”
Everyone around us gasps. No one has ever spoken to me like that before, and with this one conversation, this little spitfire has piqued my interest. Turning around, I grab the broom from Tiff and begin to help sweep up the mess. Within a few minutes, the debris is all cleaned up. Grabbing the broom from me, she hands it back to Tiff before she makes her way back ‘my’ booth. I watch her walk away, while everyone in the café has gone back to his or her business. Shaking my head, I continue to the counter and order my usual. While I wait, I stalk over to the woman who has garnered my attention. As I sit across from her, I stare at her. I don’t think I have ever been drawn to someone like I am to this woman. “Well, aren’t you a little spitfire?”
Her head pops up from the book she is reading and her cobalt blue eyes glare at me. “Excuse me?” she says.
“I didn’t stutter. I said you are a little spitfire.”
“Did you just quote Major Payne to me?”
Shaking my head, I laugh that she picked up on the movie reference, not my questioning. “Well, I guess I did.” Putting my hand out, I say, “Chase Archibald, nice to meet you.”
She hesitantly looks at my hand before placing hers in mine. Her hand is soft and delicate, compared to mine. “Hi, I’m Emerson,” she replies, immediately withdrawing her hand as if touching me will cause her to catch some horrendous disease, or worse, man germs. She drops her hand back into her lap and goes back to reading, effectively dismissing me.
Never has a woman acted like this around me, usually they fall at my feet, begging me to give them the time of day. This girl intrigues me. “So, to what do we owe the pleasure of your company here in Nels Cove?”
“Well, I’m trying to read while I wait for my late lunch.” She pauses, looking over at me before sassily adding, “but some arrogant ass keeps interrupting me.” Lowering her gaze back to her book once again, she ignores me.
“If you want to see my ass, you just have to ask,” I smugly reply. Her head shoots up and once again she is casting daggers my way. Winking at her, I smile before adding, “So, apart from wanting to see my ass, I’ll ask again. To what do we owe the pleasure of your delightful company in our little town?”
Putting her book down, she stares at me and sighs. “You’re not going to go away until I answer your questions, are you?”
Shaking my head from side to side, I confirm, “Nope.” Flashing her a smile, I wink at her. Again, she rolls her eyes, but I’m sure I see a hint of interest flickering there. This woman in front of me intrigues me, even though she’s being blasé and kind of rude, I’m fascinated with her.
“Not that it’s any of your business, but I’m on a road trip,” she huffs. “I was just passing through, but it’s so pretty here I’ve been here for a week now and I think I might stay a while longer.”
Her response puzzles me. How has she been here a week and I’m just meeting her now? A newbie like her would normally send the gossip mills blazing. I want to know more, but the phone in my pocket vibrates. I dig it out and see that it’s a reminder for a conference call in ten minutes. It’s a call that I had to reschedule and cannot miss. “Well, I guess you are saved by the bell. I hope to see you around, Emerson.”
“Lucky me,” she sarcastically says. She picks up her book and goes back to reading, once again rejecting my advances.
Standing up, I walk over to the counter, grab my waiting coffee and head out. As I walk across the street, I glance over my shoulder and see her staring out the window at me. Lifting my hand, I nod my head, tap my temple, and salute her. From across the road, I can sense her blushing and I think to myself, Game on, Spitfire, game on.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m not going to lie. I was terrified to read this book. The blurb scared me. When I started it I was scared. At 50% my mind was screaming at me to stop because this book was going to shred my heart. But I powered on and it was so worth it. Not every book can be happy shit and rainbows because life isn’t always pretty. But it can be meaningful and moving and incredibly amazing….just like this book was.

Fire and ice. Oil and water. Vodka and decisions. That’s what Darren McCoy and Wren Davison are: two opposites that shouldn’t mix well. Dare believes in fairy tales, true love, and happily ever after. Wren believes in fast cars, freedom, and no-strings sex. What can these two men possibly have in common? A magnetic pull strong enough to obliterate logic and reason.

For more than a year, Dare and Wren have worked together at the Curl Up and Dye Salon. Dare has pursued the mysterious, brooding man, and Wren has resisted his provocative charm. Then one day, something happens that allows the men to see each other in a new light. Wren learns that Dare hides a heavy heart behind his brilliant smile. Dare realizes that beneath Wren’s gruff exterior beats the heart of a prince.

Passions ignite once the men stop fighting their attraction, but will it be enough to overcome their differences? Is Wren the prince that Dare is looking for? Can Dare teach Wren that true love does exist?

Nobody’s Prince charming is a modern-day fairy tale where some princes ride Harleys, and castle walls are built to scale. It is the third book in the Road to Blissville series but can be read as a standalone book. This book contains sexually explicit material and is intended for adults eighteen and over.

EXCERPT

When I returned to the kitchenette, Dare looked as if he were afraid to believe in me. I wondered if maybe our backgrounds weren’t that different after all.

“I just want you to know that I will not be upset if you change your mind, Wren.” It was cute the way he tried to put me at ease.

“Dare, there’s something you need to know about me.” He nodded eagerly, biting his lip nervously as he waited. “Rule number five: I never say things I don’t mean, and I don’t do things I don’t want to do.”

“That’s two different things,” Dare said. “That should be rules five and six.”

“They mean similar things, so they share a rule.”

“Saying and doing aren’t even close to the same thing,” Dare argued. “It would make sense if it was: say what you mean and mean what you say. They could share a rule.”

“They’re my rules, and I’ll categorize them as I see fit.”

“Well,” Dare said huffily. Then he tipped his head to the side and studied me speculatively. “I’ll let it drop if you tell me your first four rules. Not gonna lie, I kind of want to see if I can make you break them.”

“Not a chance,” I declared. His look said we’ll just see about that.

Excerpt

I don’t know what possessed me to do it, but I sat up on his lap, his arms falling to his sides, but he remained motionless. I stared in awe as I began trailing my fingers up his body, from his hip bones, trailing along his defined abdominal muscles, up his pectorals feeling the tuffs of chest hair tickling the skin of my fingers. I continued from his collarbone and up his neck until my palms rested on the man’s cheeks. Gerard stirred, but never woke.

I tilted my head slightly and marveled at the man that once held my father’s heart, but now was quickly beginning to worm his way into mine. I wished I knew an artist who would be able to capture Gerard’s face on paper perfectly so that I could look at it every night after his trip in Abingdon was over. I didn’t want to think of him leaving. I just wanted to revel in the stunning work of art that was Gerard Ramhart. All man, all muscle, and how I wanted him to be mine. I wasn’t afraid to admit it to myself anymore. I wanted him, so fucking bad; but would he ever be mine? Would I ever get to feel what it was like to be his? Would I ever know what it was like to have his lips on mine?

Instinctively, my thumbs began running along his dark thickly grown beard and then to his lips. I remembered that moment when he was stepping out of the shower, and we almost shared a kiss. Almost. I never stopped thinking about it, and the desire to kiss him at that moment was making my heart practically beat out of my chest.

As if my body had a mind of its own, I began leaning down, bringing myself closer to Gerard’s face. My face was inches away from his. I could feel his breath on my skin, and his full lips were close, oh so close. My heart was thundering so loud I was worried Gerard would hear it and wake up. This may have been my only chance to kiss him, and I didn’t want it to slip by. I got closer and was about to press my lips to his when Gerard’s eyes shot open.

Oh fuck, I was so screwed. I had no way to explain this. I pulled back some to looked into his startled eyes. I opened my mouth to try to say something, anything, but what the fuck could I say?

“I-I…Gerard, I’m –” my words were cut off immediately when his hand cupped the back of my head, and his free arm around my waist. Gerard pulled me down to him and embraced me in a deep soulful kiss.

I was taken aback by the sudden embrace, but not enough to pull away. When the initial shock wore off, I closed my eyes and gave back as much as Gerard was giving me. And holy fuck, was he giving me something that was literally stealing my breath away.

The kiss was not how I imagined it. I’d been kissed by many guys growing up, including Brett. I didn’t know if it would be possessive, rough and demanding like Brett’s or dull and lifeless like some of the casual flings I had to entertain my libido. I thought it would be simple but nice, like when Adam and I shared our first kiss, but it wasn’t. They all paled in comparison to the feel of Gerard’s lips on mine.

The kiss was heated, but not enough to devour me. It was filled with affection, longing, desire, wholesome. Gerard was kissing me as if he’d been waiting for centuries to do so, and now that he had me, he wanted to treasure the moment. He wanted to cherish me. I had never felt so desired by a man in all my life, and my eyes burned as if I would cry at the realization.

Was this how my father felt when he kissed Gerard? Was this how it felt to have someone kiss you like you were wanted? I couldn’t begin to comprehend how badly I wanted this moment, how much I needed it. Gerard was claiming me, and I wanted to be his.

About the Author

JM Wolf never thought he would one day say that he’s a published M/M romance author. Having a poet for a mother and a sister who once ran a blog, it was only a matter of time before JM discovered his writing genes. In the beginning, his sole purpose in life was to be a singer/songwriter. Writing lyrics was the first step putting his thoughts onto paper. Even while singing, JM always found time to dabble with writing little short stories but never thought too much about it.

Once he reached adulthood, his music dreams left him, but not the feeling for writing down what was in his mind. However, that didn’t mean music no longer played a part in JM’s life. His debut book The Black Feather was inspired by one of his favorite songs. Whether lyrics or love stories, you will always find JM’s heart and soul in every word on paper.

JM Wolf lives in Chesapeake, VA with his husband and in-laws. When he’s not writing, you can always find him reading a good book, spending time with the love of his life, or jamming out to music. He didn’t pick the world of literature, the literary world picked him.

Ten Mile Bottom Blurb

Hitting rock bottom is just the beginning…

I’m a son, a brother, a friend.

A writer.

An addict.

Dead.

Cardiac arrest isn’t enough to keep me dead, though. The doctors brought me back, but for what?

At twenty four I’ve already achieved what most people do in a life time. I’m a successful author, own a flat in the heart of London and drive my dream sports car.

Or at least that’s what people see.

Once the spotlight fades, I’m left alone with my overactive mind, alcohol and drugs the only way to quiet down the noise.

Until an overdose nearly kills me and drags everyone I love down with me.

With the help of my best friend, I leave London and its toxic influence behind, moving to a small town in the outskirts of Cambridge to try and put my life back together again.

If only it were that easy.

Author bio and contacts

Hi, my name is Teodora and I live in London with my husband and my son. I’ve been writing ever since I can remember, but it became my full time job a few years ago when I decided that everything else I’ve tried bores me to death and I have to do what I’ve always wanted to do, but never had the guts to fully embrace. I’ve been a journalist, an editor, a personal assistant and an interior designer among other things, but as soon as the novelty of the new, exciting job wears off, I always go back to writing. Being twitchy, impatient, loud and hasty are not qualities that help a writer, because I have to sit alone, preferably still, and write for most of the day, but I absolutely love it. It’s the only time that I’m truly at peace and the only thing I can do for more than ten minutes at a time – my son has a bigger attention span than me.
When I’m procrastinating, I like to go to the gym, cook Italian meals (and eat them), read, listen to rock music, watch indie movies and True Blood re-runs. Or, in the worst case scenario, get beaten at every Nintendo Wii game by a very inventive kid.

The Price of DickThe Price of Dick by Dan Skinner

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holy hell – what an intense, emotional and sometimes insane ride this was. If books had hands this one would reach out and grab you by the throat and shout “Wake the eff up – this is what the real world is like.” This is everything a good story should be – brutally honest, eye-opening, emotional and empowering – with a side of soul searing angst. When an author can make me want to go all Mama bear on a character and bitch-slap him into next week….that’s when you know he’s done his job perfectly.

Two self-assured men are about to find out what happens when they come face-to-face with what neither realizes they’re searching for…each other.

Ben Jameson is a very successful club owner who likes things the way he likes them. He tried the serious relationship routine a few years ago, and that ended badly. Since then, he’s put in place carefully-constructed rules that he steadfastly lives by: Work hard, treat people fairly and absolutely no fooling around with his employees—ever. However, when his new head bartender waltzes into his life, Ben finds it nearly impossible to deny his attraction to the carefree, handsome man who makes him want to shatter his own rules, take a walk on the wild side, and live a little…if he dares.

Jared Jensen has moved to California from Chicago seeking a brand new start. In Chicago, he left behind an unsettling situation that caused monumental upheaval in his life. The very last thing on his mind is getting involved with anyone…but then he meets Ben Jameson, and all bets are off. Not even the fact that Ben is his new boss can deter Jared from honing in on the gorgeously frustrating man who’s determined to keep their relationship on a strictly professional level.

As resolute as Ben is to keep Jared at arms’ length, Jared’s doubly focused on getting Ben to acknowledge—and surrender to–the palpable lust exploding between them. All he wants is a chance to show Ben how good they can be together…and he won’t rest until Ben breaks his ridiculous rules and grabs the unexpected chance they’ve both been given to find a love unlike any other.

What Jared doesn’t count on, though, is his past coming back to savagely bite him, just as Ben decides to give their relationship a chance. An impossible decision soon looms before Jared: Will he have to leave the one man who means everything to him in order to keep him safe?

Excerpt

Ben’s eyes widened and he rushed to the desk to look at the perfectly balanced spreadsheets with awe. “Fuck me, you did it.”

“Of course, I did,” I said with contrived offense. “I told you I would.”

“Yeah you fucking did.” He grinned and slapped me hard on the back as I stood. “Thanks, Jared. Shit, you saved my sanity.”

“Welcome,” I responded returning his grin. Stretching my hands over my head I asked, “Now how about our drink?”

“It’s on me,” Ben said, walking to the door and holding it open for me.

“That’s very generous of you considering you own the club,” I said and he laughed.

He winked at me and assured, “I’m a generous kind of a guy.”

I didn’t disagree with that assessment one little bit. I’d seen how kind and compassionate he was since I’d started working here. Granted that was only one night, but everyone I’d met tonight who worked at Infinity loved him. I hadn’t heard one bad word said about him, and in an establishment this large, that was saying something.

“Mmm, then you won’t object to my opening a bottle of Dom Perignon to celebrate?”

I expected him to tell me I was out of my mind suggesting popping the cork on such a ridiculously expensive bottle of champagne for just the two of us, but without missing a beat, he shrugged and said, “Sounds like a wonderful idea to me.”

When we reached the now-empty bar and club, I lifted the bar pass to retrieve the champagne. Once I’d uncorked it and poured us both a flute, I returned to sit beside Ben. Lifting my glass in a toast I said, “To your books being balanced.”

“I’ll fucking drink to that,” he said, relief evident in his voice as he clinked his glass with mine before taking a long drink. “Mmm, that’s good.”

“Yes, it is,” I agreed after sampling my drink.

“Thank you again, Jared, for your help.”

“I was happy to do it,” I assured, refilling both of our glasses.

We sipped our champagne enjoying the quietness of the usually buzzing environment…and I dared to think, each other’s company. I know I was relishing sitting here with Ben, sharing a drink, watching him unwind. As I lifted the bottle to refill our glasses, my eyes encountered his heated ones and I placed the champagne back onto the bar before I dropped it. Damn, the look he’s giving me is…fucking potent.

“Why are you staring at me like that?” I asked with a tilt of my head, barely able to contain myself while I waited for his answer.

“Your eyes are…” his voice trailed off as he searched for words.

“What?” I prompted raising my glass to my lips. I nearly choked on the sip of champagne I’d taken when his eyes dropped to my mouth and he—shit—licked his lips like he was thinking of—

“So incredible,” he finished, reaching out a hand to lightly touch the side of my face as he stared at me with hungry eyes. “You are—”

“Please, don’t stop…especially if you’re about to flatter me some more,” I joked with a crooked grin.

He shook his head, chuckled and gripped my chin between his thumb and forefinger. “You are such a smartass.”

I leaned closer and agreed, “Guilty.”

“I want…” His thumb caressed my chin, his light touch igniting a blaze of need in the pit of my stomach.

“Take whatever you want from me, Ben,” I seriously told him, waiting with baited breath to see if he would.
