My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This being my first book from this author (I know – I need to catch up), I was not only pleasantly surprised but also wowed as well. The flow of this story felt effortless, kind of like the way a swimmer moves through the water (see how I did that there???). I quickly adored both Dane and Alex, I felt their pain, I understood Dane’s struggles with his parents, I despised Dane’s parents, and I adored the cast of side characters (especially Bas and Jacob, who I’m hoping might get their own story). This was a well thought out, wonderful love story with a lower heat level than what I’m used to but that may just be the way this author writes and that’s fine – it still worked perfectly. I enjoyed the heck out of this and really excited to dive into the next book in this series when it comes out (seems I have swimming and pools stuck on my brain, that just tells you how good this story really was).
