~Review~ A Love Song for the Sad Man in the White Coat by Roe Horvat

A Love Song for the Sad Man in the White CoatA Love Song for the Sad Man in the White Coat by Roe Horvat

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Some stories are sweet but kind of emotionally flat. Some stories are like being on an emotional roller coaster – with speeding highs and plummeting lows. This story was what I call a slow burn. The emotions in it reached out and grabbed out hold of me from the first pages and they never let go. They squeezed, but not so tight it was unbearable. They scared me but not so much I had to close my eyes. This book made me feel like I was on this journey with Simon and Matej, learning with them. Learning to grow, trying to learn to let go, realizing with the how that letting go of the other half of your heart is unbearable and impossible and, ultimately, learning to accept and to love.
I feel incredibly lucky and grateful that I was invited to join these broken yet beautiful men on this amazing journey.
