~Review~ Epic by Adrienne Wilder

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’m torn right now. I loved this book, loved the story, loved both Matt and Andrew. But there were a few things about it that frustrated me. Nothing really concrete, but more like subtle inconsistencies that made me frown. I still give it four stars though because the overall feeling I got from it was great, especially when I read things like this:
He could just pretend the hazy figure was someone attractive, someone wanted, a character in one of his stories. Someone who loved like the world was on firer and was loved as if they were the ones creating the flames
Maybe my issues were because, well, I identified with Andrew so well because he’s me – quiet, withdrawn, low self-esteem, yet creative, observant and with amazing stories dancing through his head – yep….me to a “T” I’m glad that he stayed true to himself throughout the entire story – still struggling with his confidence, still unsure – because the damage that verbal abuse can cause doesn’t just go away when you meet someone special. It stays, lingers, for a long time, sometimes even forever. And this story portrayed that wonderfully. I voluntarily reviewed and advance copy.
