I simply adored this May-Dec story because it wasn’t simply a story about an older man and a younger man. It was a story about Jericho – a beautiful, world-weary tattoo artist who has seen his share of past troubles but managed to turn things around (thanks to a little help) and make something of himself and his passion. And Poe, dear, sweet, lost Poe – an artist himself, but with no direction. Young but with an old soul, someone who desperately needs guidance but fights it at every turn. And this is the story of how the two of them not only came together but opened each other’s eyes to something new, who helped the other to realize that something was missing in their life and gave it to each other. It’s a story about patience, guidance, joy, realization, comfort and most of all, a beautiful love. And when you read things like this:
“I love your freckles,” Jericho whispered, his breath hot against my throat. “I was wondering if you had them all over.” He moved lower, to my collarbones, and pressed a soft kiss into the dip between them. “I’m glad to see you do.”and this:
“I love you, you know.” My delivery probably could’ve been a bit more romantic. Despite that, the words were true.
….when you not only read, but feel things like this. You’ll know exactly what I mean. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy.
