Some books you read and they’re smooth, they don’t challenge you, they flow down your throat like a smooth whiskey. Others, well, they bite. They not only challenge you but they test you, they’re the rough shot of Tequila that makes you grimace and shiver, wondering why you do this to yourself and then that warmth finally hits, that feeling of floating as you smile and nod and think ‘yeah – it was worth that burn’ That’s what this story is. Dylan had such a beautiful heart that you can feel it. And his sarcasm, his wit will make you laugh out loud many times. And Gabe, well, Gabe….he’s that insurmountable mountain that you stare up at from the beginning of the trail and think ‘I’m really going to hate this…and it’s going to hurt but….’. Yeah, but you go up anyways. For the challenge, for the right to say ‘I did this, I made it’ and after you read things like this:
‘You were right to leave me, because I needed to take a long look at myself. I know now that you’re somehow everything that I never knew I needed….’
and this
‘You could go out tomorrow and find someone better for you but the truth is that no one will ever need you like I do.’
Yeah – after you read things like that, after you make that climb and stand proudly at the top and enjoy the view as you catch your breath….you’ll find that it’s totally worth it.
