Heart of the Steal by Avon Gale
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book surprised the heck out of me. I never thought I could adore a rich, pretentious character….but I did. I never thought I could find a rigid, by-the-book FBI agent intriguing and sexy….but I did. These two authors took two characters who were not only opposite of each other but also opposite of what I find exciting and interesting and made them….well….utterly perfect. Vaughn and Will’s romantic dance was at turns mystifying, exciting, heartbreaking and beautiful and I’m so glad I went along on this ride.
I felt something kindle in my stomach that wasn’t precisely lust, nor was it hunger, exactly. Longing
But he shook his head and bit his lip, “I need you to not be….who you are,” he said, the words opening cuts in their wake.
“Love, William. Stealing your heart feels like the greatest theft I have ever perpetrated.”
We kissed in a way we had never kissed before because now we knew what it was to lose each other
Mystifying, exciting, heartbreaking, beautiful…..perfect. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy.
