~Review~ Red Hot by Sean Ashcroft

Red HotRed Hot by Sean Ashcroft

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book could be a lesson in the importance of the need to communicate with your partner. Talk to each other. Don’t hold things inside. That’s what Red and Andy eventually learned. They’re so sweet though that even their fumbling and missteps along the way were endearing. And once they figured everything out, somehow they were even better. Really enjoyed this one. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Color me hooked…..on a paranormal series? Me? Yes! Absolutely! Because even though this was a story about empaths and folks with other psychic abilities – the characters were so rich and full and broken and beautiful damaged and alive and just everything that only Santino Hassell can put into his characters that it wasn’t so much what the story was about as it was the characters – and damn, did he embed Nate and Trent so hard into my heart just like a shot of adrenaline. They’re still there now, I can feel them, as I wait for the next book in the series. Well done, Santino, very well done.

Working It (Metropolis, #2)Working It by Riley Hart

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holy wow!: Dare I say it? Should I? I have to, I mean I have to be honest, right? I loved the first book in this series. It was really good. But this one? Even better. This one made me laugh, it made me smile, it made me sigh, it made me cry and damn it was just so amazing. Hayden and Cody were just so beautiful together. If the series continues on this trend, I’m going to be needing a lot more than five stars.

~Review~ Dyed and Gone to Heaven by Aimee Nicole Walker

Dyed and Gone to Heaven (Curl Up and Dye Mysteries, #3)Dyed and Gone to Heaven by Aimee Nicole Walker

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I adore both Josh and Gabe and this one didn’t disappoint when it came to the two of them, as they grow together it really is something truly beautiful to watch. But other parts of this felt…..forced to me but if you asked to explain why I wouldn’t be able to put my finger on any one thing, it was more like a collective whole that felt like it didn’t flow well. I still loved the story but it just felt off because of that. I am looking forward to the others in the series.

~Review~ Unforgiven by Ruth Clampett

Okay. I kind of feel like this should come with a reward, a high five for getting through it. Not because it was bad, not at all. It’s because it was hard, really, really hard to read this, brutal even, to be a witness to such a tormented life. But bad things happen in life to good people and you can’t look away just because it’s hard to see it. And once I began to know Jason I felt like I owed it to him to see him to the end of his story no matter how hard it was. And I did, without stopping. I couldn’t. I had to see the end. And though it was one of the hardest books I’ve ever read, it was so very much worth that difficult journey. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
