Review of Weight of the World by Riley Hart and Devon McCormack

As the tears flow and the emotions roll through me, I try to come up with the words that can adequately describe how this book made me feel. So many things come to mind: pain, sadness, darkness, confusion, sorrow, beauty, survival, love, acceptance, growth and always remember to grab whoever you love and dance. When the tears flow hours later, mourning for the life that could’ve been, grieving for the loss, feeling the pain but also the strength of the two men still not only here but thriving, loving, living…that’s when I know that a story has truly touched me. Years from now when I’m asked what books impacted my life – this book will definitely be on that list.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review and while I liked the story and I liked the characters and felt like they had decent chemistry together it was the fact that they barely seemed to communicate yet worked out all of their issues so easily that threw me off. I get the ‘it was meant to be’ sensation but it still takes some work.

It’s kind of hard to write a review when I’m still laughing so hard my hands are shaking but I’ll give it my best. I actually read this twice. Yes twice. Once to myself and then out loud to my hubby when I kept busting out the snort-laughs so he’d say ‘okay, what did Dirk do now?’ I think I might put that on a t-shirt. For Dirk. Oh. And I have a new favorite color. Butt skin. Snort. Yep. Oh heck. I’m going back in. This one is just that freaking good.

Love Unchained’s review of Steady Stroke by A.M. Arthur

Okay – this was a struggle. At times it was great, hot, emotional, intense. But then it delved into the ‘are you freaking kidding me?’ and ‘there’s no freaking way’ realms that just made it tough. I mean if you find out something huge, a big piece of news that could potentially blow your relationship to bits it just seems to me that it should take more than a few pages to work though it. I don’t know, maybe that’s just me. I’m glad these guys got their HEA but it just felt too perfect.
