Finley by Ella Frank

Finley (Sunset Cove, #1)Finley by Ella Frank

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Can you find love the second time around? Can you heal a broken heart with the one who broke it in the first place? Can trust be rebuilt? Is love enough to overcome even the most seemingly insurmountable obstacles? Every one of these questions is answered in this raw, gritty, brutal, heartfelt, emotional, hot and amazingly touching story. We briefly met Finley in Ms. Frank’s Temptation Series, but to get to know him both as the young man he was in college and as the man he is now and also to see him striving to become the man he never thought he could be. This book will tear you apart but trust me when I say “Read it” because it will also put you back together in the most beautiful way that makes it all worth it.

Strong Signal by Megan Erickson

Strong Signal (Cyberlove, #1)Strong Signal by Megan Erickson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was so much more than what I expected. This was my first book by this author and at first I was leery – I mean, not to sound shallow, but how can a book where one of the MC’s is a shut-in and basically afraid of human contact be…interesting and titillating? I don’t want to give away spoilers but all I will say is…trust me when I say that this author, this book, these characters, this story is not only interesting and heartwarming and entertaining and exciting but it’s also eye-opening, amazing, completely new and so, just so much of everything. Don’t hesitate to read this – it’s a story that will stay with you for a long time.

Spencer Cohen, Book Two by N.R. Walker

Spencer Cohen, Book Two (Spencer Cohen, #2)Spencer Cohen, Book Two by N.R. Walker

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was as much Andrew’s story as it was Spencer’s and it was so beautiful. Seeing the two men not only open up to each other but also struggle with how connected they were so soon and not wanting to push things too fast was so touching. Finding that one person who can read you, who knows your thoughts, your needs just by looking at you can be overwhelming but if you realize that once you let go and open your heart then you can read him just as completely? That’s a once in a lifetime

I almost feel like a better title for this book would be Never. As in Never has a story scared me, touched me, moved me, broke me, healed me and felt so f-ing perfect to me. Every twist, turn, shock, admission, pain and heartbreak was met with equally amazing love, understanding, patience, guidance and strength. What can I say other than this left me feeling completely absolved. Beautiful.

Ever make a decision that you thought was right but regretted later? Just like Nick in this story, I have. But Nick got the chance to make up for that mistake, to apologize, to learn from it and to grow thanks to the love, patience, forgiveness and incredibly giving heart of Cody. Letting go of past hurts isn’t easy, believe me I know, but you can release that anger, that pain and when you do you can actually live again. This book touched my heart and my soul. Nick and Cody felt so real to me that I wanted to wrap them in a big hug and never let go.
